How can an unattractive 16 year old girl with Social Phobia find a boyfriend?
OUTSIDE of school, work or church……also I’m going to the gym reguarly to get my weight down and I’m not allowed to use makeup and have basically no money for new clothes or hairstyles =S it’d be so nice to have one!
outside of everything? that’s nearly impossible…
first things first, STOP telling yourself you’re unattractive! we’re our own worst critics, and no matter how ugly you may think you are to someone out there you are the most beautiful woman. I used to hate myself, then I realized it was stupid. next time you look in the mirror instead of going right for the part you hate look at the part about you that you like! for me, I love my eyes. it can be anything, whatever you think are your best qualities. tell yourself how beautiful you are, everyone has flaws! once you’re more confident in yourself people will view you differently.
next, I don’t know why you aren’t allowed to wear makeup, but if you feel like it may work try talking to your parents (like an adult, don’t whine or complain!). tell them how you don’t want to be trashy about it or anything, you just want a little and to keep a natural look. tell them you just want to feel more confident about yourself and that they can personally approve anything before leaving the house.
for your hair, if you don’t have the money to cut it why not just try messing around with it until you find a style you like? if it’s straight try braiding it while it’s wet so when it’s dry it will be wavy. or if you can find a little money there is probably a cheap place around you somewhere, they can be better than the pricey salons sometimes.
lastly, but MOST IMPORTANTLY… be yourself and love yourself! in no way am I trying to tell you that you need to change who you are to get a guy! any guy worth your time will like you as is. what I am saying is you seem not to like who you are right now, and for others to love you, you need to love yourself!
what I worry is that you aren’t happy and feel a guy will make things better. this is not the case, you don’t need a guy to be happy, and he won’t make your life complete. you are complete, you don’t need a man. at 16, the only thing a boy will really di is make your life more complicated
